I wouldn't worry about Ardwick. HS2 Phase 2b has the line transitioning from ground to tunnel right on the current site of the depot.

By the time HS2 Phase 2b west is being built, the 185s will be heading to Booths...

Well it depends how far into the future you want to go - as it also won't be terminating at Kirkgate forever. But December 22 is a reasonable shout in my view, seeing as the current contract (and 185 lease extension) expires at the end of that timetable.

TPE have the rights for these calls already and have been renewing these rights recently. They must have a rolling stock plan to cover these services.

In any case, the unit requirement for Piccadilly - Huddersfield - Kirkgate it definitely not 2, probably 6 but potentially 4.

Indeed but there's a difference between the longer term plan - which will inevitably make assumptions as to what stock will be available and have suitably trained crew - and the leases etc. that actually get signed.

Either way, as you can see, the figures clearly show that you couldn't take 15 185s off lease without drastically cutting capacity.
