Trainee train driver position

Hi all,

I’m currently working for a contracted company within arriva line and was wondering if anyone knows of any trainee driver positions currently going for any rail line or if someone has the knowledge of when it’s usually time to apply for one

Welcome to the forum! I suspect the moderators will move this to the jobs and careers section.

It’s a case of checking out which Train and Freight Operating Companies are within 45 minutes (largely) commute from home, then check their website daily! There are no general times of year that they recruit, just on an as needed basis. The vacancies are often oversubscribed and may be taken down before the deadline so it really is a case of apply asap! There were 3,500 applicants per position when I applied and that’s over 10 years ago so you really need to make your application stand out! Have a look at the pinned post in the careers section on here for some great advice.
