Good day! Can anyone confirm if Eastleigh is good for spotting? My boys wanna see freight trains and heard good things about Eastleigh or Millbrook in Southampton; can anyone confirm this? Or recommend somewhere better close by?

I've seen and heard good things about Eastleigh for trainspotting. There seem to be lots of trains going through - this link will show you all trains going through there from 1130 to 1700 today. Italics indicate trains which don't stop, blue indicates non-passenger (i.e. freight), and all others are passenger trains. A "Q" means a train might not run - click on it and see if it's running by checking the time it left its origin - bold times will show this I think.

Eastleigh is a cracker for freight, fairly decent levels of passenger trains but will mainly be Desiros (444/450) and the odd 158 on the Salisbury to Romsey Loop.
