I’m looking for some abandoned single railway track where I could do a photo shoot. The rails and sleepers need to be in place but can be dilapidated or overgrown. A disused track bed won’t do, must have the rails and sleepers.

Location needs to be between London and Oxford ideally, shoot will be next June or July and I will need to do a reccie at some point before then.

Obviously live track is out of the question for safety reasons, would one of the preserved railways in the area such as Didcot possibly be a suitable location? Or Can someone name a suitable location please?

Thanks.

I doubt that any heritage railway would entertain the idea. About 15 years ago there was a definite policy led by the Heritage Railway Association to actively discourage any filming which could condone trespass on railway lines.

Just think about the media coverage led by Network Rail about how dangerous it is taking "selfies" on running lines.

I know that Didcot entertained a short film shoot on their track just under 3 years ago, hence why I mentioned possible use of a heritage railway. But am open to all ideas and suggestions.
