Have TPE ever used 170s for TransPennine North West services does anyone know? Even if not for passenger service have any gone through Chorley/Bolton on a booked ECS move? Never seen them myself, but have very occasionally seen them working Scarborough-Liverpool services so was just wondering.

Also as for 175s, did TPE ever use them on North or South TP? If not again were there any non-passenger service movements that way?

didn't think the 175's where ever for TPE it was First north western who ordered the 175's for the TPE north west routes that were in control of FNW? so no they never went onto the north and south tpe routes as it was a seperate company FNW and Arriva northern TPE

I think the 170's are almost exclusive to Hull Piccadilly and Cleethorpes Man Airport
services.

I have seen them before at york occasionally, usually on a sunday though operating manchester york services.

dont know about non passenger movements

When First TPE was originally created they did inherit the 175s (and 158s of course) - they lasted until the 185s arrived as far as I know. They generally stuck to Barrow and Windermere services but I believe one did once make it as far east as Hull!

They also were hired by TPE for Blackpool runs (in the summer) when they were with ATW

As a passenger or test run? About the blackpool run, this was all the time not just the summer as blackpool diagrams used to intergrate with the cumbria diagrams.

They were never route cleared so may have been on test.

I remember the 185s on test scraping the Oxford Road platform edge with the badly fitted crew steps.
