Anyone else watching it? It's been great so far with the suprise of Geriant Thomas winning the time trial and getting the yellow jersey.

I really enjoy the TdF and have done for years even when when the chance of a Brit doing anything competitive was zilch. There is nothing quite like standing around in a small French town waiting for the caravan to hit town.

Tonight I am struggling to find ITV4's highlights on line. Nothing much happened but I want to see it. That's the TdF for you.

Sagan has been disqualified for forcing Cavendish into the barriers. Cavendish is off to hospital for checks, but is probably out of the race also.

And another crash for Thomas, but nothing serious.

I think Cav was following Demare's wheel and had the right to take the small gap through past Sagan next to the barriers. The problem lay in Sagan not knowing Cav was coming so drifting off his initial racing line to take Demare's wheel which then forced Cav into the barriers. Moving away from your racing line is the illegal manoeuvre in this case.

I think it would have been correct to dock Sagan 80 points, fine him and put him back to last place (etc) as is commonplace but a DQ was over the top. Sagan's right elbow flicked out as did the left knee which anyone who has raced before knows is a fast way of trying to regain balance. It was just unfortunate to see Cav fall as he was trapped in.

It's all a conspiracy to try and get the French to actually win something

Agree with the docking points and time being adequate; even though it wasn't deliberate, his clumbsy mistake injured another rider. DSQ was a bit too far.

From hero to zero in 24 hours though, crazy how life goes.

Yesterday's stage was one of the most exciting I've seen with all the crashes and attacks. A shame though that so many good riders are out like Porte and Geriant Thomas

This year's tour is shaping up to be the most interesting for a few years. Tensions within Sky as Froome's grip appears to be loosening and Landa looks strong. Aru hangs on by his fingernails as his team disintegrates, Bardet and Barguil give the French something to cheer after all these years and Contador rolls back the years ( if only for one day).

ITV4's nightly highlights show continues to be excellent.

Sensational finish to today's stage. Only 29 seconds separate the top 4 in GC.

Quite surprised to see Froome back in yellow. He lost the 'Jersey' through
a generally bad day at the office but Aru was more than a tad naive getting
locked in at the back of the peleton.

I think it will take something special to stop him [Froome] making it three on the spin
but there seems to be friction in the Sky camp between Landa and the rest
of the squad.

Another gripping stage today. AG2R are starting to look like a Gallic Sky. They just need to practice the foot on the windpipe move.

If Dan Martin hadn't been involved in the Porte Crash it could have been so much different in the GC seeing as he lost a minute there and is now just over a minute behind
