Tottenham South Chord

Hi all,

I noticed today that the eastbound line on the Tottenham South chord was extremely overgrown. I know this has always been a poorly maintained (relatively) piece of line and normally has a certain amount of undergrowth, but this was something else. I didn’t get such a clear view but it appeared the track was completely obstructed by undergrowth. Can anyone confirm if this curve is in use? The last train scheduled to pass over it, on wednesday, shows ‘off route’ between South Tottenham and Stratford, suggesting it reversed at Woodgrange Park instead. The westbound track looks comparatively okay, but hasn’t been used regularly to the best of my knowledge since the daily Overground service (2U00) and the daily freightliner (4M88) stopped running during 2025.

I’m aware it’s shut anyway for engineering works today, I don’t believe that’s relevant.

Looking at the data feed, I can only see the last trains to pass a particular signal, I'm afraid.

For the record, the train on February 26th was 6U07 Rugby to Romford:

Wow, what a shame, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the last train for good, but I’d be happily proven wrong. Thanks for the information Mark.

I believe the points at Tottenham South Jn were damaged sometime after Feb 26th and locked for West Anglia route. They should be back in use now, the Lea Valley route having been blocked last weekend for their rectification amongst other work taking place.
