Time validity with split rover/season and train not calling at split

I intend to purchase a Livingston North (LSN) to Lockerbie (LOC) weekly season and combine this with a 7 day Freedom of the North West Rover. I will be starting and finishing from LSN each day.

The North West Rover is valid from 0900 M-F and there is a dispensation from Lockerbie to Carlisle (CAR) for travel at anytime, but any travel from Carlisle must be after 0900.

I would like to take the 0800 Avanti service from Glasgow Central (GLC) to CAR arriving at 0908. It doesn't stop at LOC.

Would this combination be valid on this train on a Mon to Fri journey?

Concur with @SaltAndVinegar. Take it travelling on the 0816 TPE (Haymarket to Carlisle and beyond) service, arriving Carlisle 0931, doesn't suit? Or the 0745 TPE (Glasgow Central to Carlisle and beyond, arriving 0922). They both call at Lockerbie. Or the 0736 Avanti (Glasgow Central to Carlisle and beyond, arriving 0848). Wait Carlisle until after 0900 before commencing onward travel.

Thanks both. Aware of the NRCoT and hadn't considered the earlier Avanti which does call at LOC. The connections from Livingston make that very tight which is why I had my eye on the 0800. I could do it if I went instead from Livingston South but it still only gives an 8 minute connection at Glasgow Central.

I think the rover has a B3 restriction, which is not valid on trains "timed to depart before 0900". My season wouldn't have the restriction of course, but it's how that restriction works with the split, and whether the dispensation covers it.

I'm on a tour of a number of places in the North West and quite a tight schedule. It's not the end of the world if I take a later train but it makes the day a bit shorter if the 0800 works.

Not valid on trains timed to depart after 04:29 and before 09:00.

Restriction does not apply to customer travelling from Lockerbie to Carlisle on direct services only. Customers should note that the time restriction would then apply to onward journeys from Carlisle.

Given splits with season/zonal tickets don't require a stop, I think you're good as long as you get off and wait at Carlisle.

Even without the split, I'm not sure how you'd do that journey on "indirect" services, especially as Lockerbie is one of the station validity boundaries for the rover.

Even without the split, I'm not sure how you'd do that journey on "indirect" services, especially as Lockerbie is one of the station validity boundaries for the rover.

I read that as prohibiting a roundabout route via Glasgow and Dumfries. Maybe. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me either.

I think so. I can get anytime single fares via Glasgow Central for the same price as via Haymarket.

However, I hadn't noticed the difference in price between the season from Livingston South (priced by Avanti) compared to North (priced by Scotrail). I think I will probably drive to Livingston South and go from there.

Having slept on it I'm not sure the T&Cs anywhere cover this specific scenario. I think I'm happy to argue the point if challenged, which I suspect is pretty unlikely.
