South Wales operators Cardiff Bus, Newport Transport and NAT are all reporting that their live tracking is not working today. They all use Ticketer machines.

Am I right in thinking it's a Ticketer issue? What about other Ticketer users?

First and McGill's both have the same issue it seems so definitely seems to be a bigger issue although First's app has been questionable for months

Only Stagecoach, National Express, Nottingham and a few others seem to be working. No Arriva, First, Transdev...

From the Ticketer Portal:

Apologies

Unfortunately we are currently experiencing an issue with the Ticketer Portal, which means you will not currently be able to access it. This should not affect your data.

We continue to work closely with 3rd parties to get this resolved and reiterate that this is our highest priority and we appreciate your patience thus far.

While we are working to have this resolved as soon as possible, we will provide a further update no later than 4pm today.

We are extremely upset by the issue, and the difficulties it will be causing you and your customers.

If you have any questions or concerns please do get in touch with your Ticketer Team.

Aye, has been causing a few headaches in control rooms up and down the country today too, as we’re unable to see our fleets and communicate with drivers. From an enthusiast perspective, it’s a return to going out and seeing what turns up, no looking for a particular vehicle etc!

There was a shorter outage yesterday too, and it seems it’s that one which has led to todays outage in some way. The outage yesterday was because of an IBM Cloud outage. (I’ll stop saying ‘outage’ now, promise…!)

When I worked in IT there was a saying "Nobody ever got sacked for buying IBM". Perhaps they're not as ultra-reliable as they used to be.

I’m not that technical enough to comment sadly! They’ve just issued an update and said they’ll be working through the night to resolve things, as they think they’ve now got the issue identified.

Looks like everything is back this morning.
Yep. The three operators I mentioned in my opening post are working now.

Hopefully those who worked through the night are getting some well-earned rest.

It may well have been a case of switching it off and back on again... :D
