The Wandsworth Common footpath

As a child I remember gripping onto the railings with my Mum or Dad next to the footpath that ran alongside the up fast line through Wandsworth Common. I used to love it there and remember seeing all kinds of stock from Thumpers to Swallow livered class 47s to those car transporter trains that used to run on the Brighton line. And of course, plenty of slam door stock. Did anyone else take delight at this particular spot as a child?
