Could anyone confirm that Stanier Pacifics worked this train into Morecambe Prom. station and if so anyone know of any photos at same, which would be rare because of the timings..
Thanks for that, locos changed at Crewe in LMS days, article seems dated at time of introduction of pacifics. Can assume any photos taken north of Crewe would be loco into Prom.,but could be different in B.R.
Thanks again
Don't forget that the natural terminus for services out of Euston would be Morecambe Euston Road, not Promenade. I suspect that up until Euston Rd closed in the 1960's, the boat train was the only LNWR routed train which got to Promenade. Anyone else able to clarify?
there's a photo at https://www.pinterest.com/pin/89931323779020431/ which shows a Coronation - 46257 - hauling the train into Euston, so Pacifics were used on the train, or at least in the south.
All the other photos of the Ulster Express on the web seem to show 4-6-0s in use - in one case double headed
