His kind of videos arn't really my cup of tea but he seems pretty genuine. I think the hobby can accommodate all sorts.

What I don't like is the way he frequently holds the camera close to his face so we see a grotesque face looming out of the screen...

I see what you’re saying, but that’s literally the hallmark camera angle that’s made him famous. There are enough people filming traditionally already.

Look, I am a professional sayer of bad things about people and I want to say something bad about this slightly odd looking/weird fella but I really cant. His videos and mannerisms are not for me but he seems a nice bloke and has obviously found a bit of a niche so good luck to him.
What's gone wrong with the world when a slightly odd person with an interest in trains isn't accepted by other slightly odd people with an interest in trains! We used to look out for each other!

Met him a few times seems like a nice fella, similar to others don’t get the head camera thing but my kids seem to like it.
He seems to have stopped running on platforms which used to really irritate me. Good luck to the fella.

I agree with you completely - I've watched a couple of his YouTube videos and decided that he's not my cup of tea, but I'm not going to grudge anyone the opportunity to make a bit of money from a hobby when it presents itself. Not everyone is going to get rich from posting a few YouTube clips but if you can get it right and use that revenue wisely, I don't see it as any different to selling socks from a market stall and then moving on to bigger things. Let's face it, if you can make more from having an odd hobby than you would from a 40-hour slog in Tesco, it's a bit of a no-brainer, really.
