I think an interesting question to put to the Forum is the one below, please vote for the answer which is your overall favourite. I haven't used the Elizabeth Line yet so Thameslink would have to be my favourite.

Which one I prefer very much depends on where I'm coming from and going to!
Thameslink has marginally more preferable trains, to me - although that's tempered by the fact I've very rarely got to use the EL for outer suburban journeys while I regularly use Thameslink from St Pancras or Farringdon to beyond Haywards Heath. However the station environment and passenger experience of the infrastructure on EL is much much better, as you'd expect from a brand new line. Although I've only used the EL 1 time.

Who you prefer overall.
Based on the stock Thameslink wins over the Elizabeth Line easily. The 700s are really nice trains. Yes i know the ironing boards are not the most comfortable but other than that they are great. The 700s are the most spacious trains in the UK. The aisles are so wide that even a wheelchair can easily wheel down the entire train. On the 345s i find they have very narrow aisles. On the parts of the 345s that have the proper facing non longitudal seating the aisle is very narrow which is not really ideal for a busy metro style suburban train. You could definitely not go down the entire train in a wheelchair on these so that shows how much more narrow they are. Also the 700s just feel very bright and airy and spacious where as the 345s feel very dark inside. I think this is partly due to the colour that the walls and floors are painted and partly due to the lighting used. In general i just find the 700s far more pleasant than the 345s are. So based on that i much prefer Thameslink to the Elizabeth Line as the stock is more pleasant. I also have a lot of criticisms about the Elizabeth Line skipping out major busy interchange stations in Central London like Oxford Circus and Holborn and London City Airport where as Thameslink calls everywhere that it can on the route through Central London so i think it was designed a lot better.
