Lol, last time I went into St Pancras on a 319 was a few years back, I remember being next to a ex-Virgin HST power car and shutting the 319 doors cos it was so loud ^^

They didnt know!? I wondered if they knew about 4.0. It would be sooo funny with us making a racket and the looks on the staff faces if they didn't know!
None of the staff, including 2 DSM's and 4 people on duty Friday night know they had a railtour booked in!

Sands is a typical code word related to fires, and it's origins (usually in the form of Mr Sands) most likely go back to theatres in the days when sand buckets would be the main way to deal with fires. At major railway stations "Would Inspector Sands please report to the Control Room" is the main fire alarm (I was at Manchester Picadilly a few years ago and after annoucing the fire alarms were to be tested, that message was played, which sort of gives the game away). Similar code words or numbers are used for other situations, both safety and security related when you want staff to know something but not customers. Many shops have codes to warn of shoplifters etc.
I once ended up coming in to KX by train when the evacuation announcement was playing. I've never seen a 365 empty quite as quickly as then.
We've just had a new two stage fire alarm installed at work, so evacuation when the canteen burns the toast is no longer necessary. For some reason there are PA speakers on the outside of the building, so the tourists get "We are investigating a fire in the building" and "This is an emergency" blasted at them, with many choosing to flee across the bridge in the direction of tate modern.
