Fairwater yard is a base for several High Output Ballast Cleaners and other similar vehicles. Nothing seems to have moved for a long time and the wagons are attracting graffiti. Is it still an active yard?

The Loco sidings just east of the yard still seem to retain some activity; how often do locos interchange between the two?
The yard has also been used for the Riviera Express weekend railtours to swap locos on the return run, however the hot weather this year means few have run with steam and retained diesel throughout, so the switch hasn't been required.

Also used as a base for the West Country RHTT which previously operated from St Blazey.
