I hope someone can help.

I use Tapatalk on my iPad / iPhone. Or at leat I did till today. It has been upgraded, or more accurately ruined. There's is no link to unread or participated, my usual opening tack.

Is there either a way back to former versions or what Apps do others use ?

They do seem to like pointlessly completely changing the UI, don't they? The new UI is definitely inferior in my book though I've more or less got used to it. Almost as good as the S&B and Parkeon TVM UIs, you could say

You'll find "mark as read" under the = menu in the top right. Unread posts, provided you're logged in, can be found under what looks like a sideways wifi symbol in the middle.

It's now icons. The star being favourite/subscribed threads, a sort of RSS/Wi-Fi style icon for unread, a new trending one (which is quite good - showing popular threads) and so on.

The Android version has been changed quite a lot as part of the Material Design layout - although strangely the slide in 'burger menu' is now from the right instead of the left, as is usually the norm.

Sometimes I do wonder, but overall Tapatalk is still quite awesome. It's usually preferable to use this forum on the app than a desktop, except when writing a lot of text or wishing to avoid embarrassing autocorrections.

Version 3.3 installed itself on my iPhone a couple of days back, very disappointing upgrade - way too graphical and unclear compared to the previous version

Yes, an ideal example of change just for changes sake. I can't think of one single useful function that has been added in the past year or so. I'm not overly keen on the latest incarnation, but I suppose I'll get used to it. It's the last time I update it though.

There are lots of little improvements, many of which are down to the plug in on the forum. Now you can better see who wrote text that's quoted and edit it easier when posting a reply.

Better image handling, a timer so you can't post again for the allocated time (60 seconds on here) and a lot more.

But you can still lose a post if it doesn't submit properly, such as losing your data connection for a split second. That's poor.
