Do any passenger services still use this? I seem to remember a good 10-20 years ago there used to be an early morning service from Tynemouth to the Airport using this bit of track.

they use it on the odd ocasion if works are going on between jesmond and gosforth instead of termnating metros at gosforth the norrmally just continue they to airport and run a shuttle bus between jesmond and regent centre and normally terminate trains at haymarket

Don't think it went that way, there was such a service but it used the depot avoider,

I think he is on about the avoider!

I went over it a couple of times a few years ago when they were doing diversions. I imagined the Tynemouth to Airport used the ECS route through the old Jesmond station?

Last time it was used that I can remember was when they were doing engineering work on the points at South Gosforth. Trains were running Longbenton - Regent Centre using the avoider.

As for the Manors stock curve, don't think I've heard of this being used in passenger service. I did e-mail Nexus to see if they would consider using it when the Byker - Tynemouth section was closed but they wouldn't.
