On the SWT website I can buy a First Off-Peak Day Rtn for £26.70 but I could not find this ticket at the ticket machine.

Please could you tell us the journey that you were making and what time you were travelling?

Then we can see if there was a logical reason why the TVM wasn't displaying it. e.g due to a restriction code

£26.70 1st off-peak day return Guildford to Waterloo via Woking is on SWT's website departing at 10:34/ 10:47/ 11:02.

But looking at Avantix the 1st day return is an Anytime 1st return via Clandon/ Woking for £33.00 or reading at £85.00.

However there is a 1st off-peak day return via reading for £53.00.

Intresting, but I am sure someone will have an answer.

I did a quick check and it's also available to buy on East Coast.

One thing I have noticed is that this particular product (FCR - Off Peak 1st Day Return) seem to be missing/not present from all SWT set flows I looked at.
The only ones which I can see in avantix as a whole are (FRX - Off Peak 1st Day Returns) which have peak restrictions, whilst Southern set FCR's that do appear are valid on any train after 10am.

The only possible conclusion I can come to is that these FCR coded tickets are either fairly new (on SWT flows),have errorsly been ommited from Avantix or are only available to buy online. However in all honesty I have no idea for sure.

Cue someone who does know to tell us. **Cough**

First Class Off-peak Day tickets were introduced by SWT as a trial last year on the Portsmouth Line, and in December were extended to the Weymouth Line. I know that they are available for travel from Waterloo/Clapham to/from all stations between Fleet and Weymouth inclusive, but I'll have to find the staff brief tomorrow to see where they are valid from/to on the Portsmouth Line.

I know they can't be used from Waterloo/Clapham between 16:00 and 19:00. Can't remember what time they are available from in the morning until I find that staff brief. Will update tomorrow!

That may be it as there is a 1st off-peak day return from Winchester (FSX) for £49.30 that shows up in Avantix abd a 1st off-peak return for £48.40 on the website that isn't in Avantix.

But then the OP was talking about a off-peak day return and not a off-peak return.

Is the reason they are are not in Avantix because it's a trial?

They are on Avantix. I've seen them there. Someone using a copy of the NFM05 Avantix Traveller CD though may not find it there - I assume this is the Avantix it's been looked up on?

Also, they are not a trial now. The Portsmouth line ones were introduced as a trial to test demand, hence the expansion to the Weymouth Line I believe. But it's not a trial ticket now.
