Swansea to Lincoln Central

Hi All,

My brother's girlfriend has asked me to find her tickets from Swansea to Lincoln Central going out on 22nd December around 9:00am and returning on 23rd December getting back around 3:00pm. There aren't any advance tickets that I can find and the best price for a return is around £90. Is there anywhere she can split to reduce the price because she's thinking about driving unless she can get a cheaper ticket.

Hmm, for singles you can split at Nottingham (Swansea - Nottingham £59.40), (Nottingham - Lincoln £8.50).

I made a bit of a boo boo with that one, that's just the single fare, an open return (off peak), splitting at Nottingham is £74

Try Swansea > Cardiff > Birmingham > Nottingham > Lincoln, or a combination thereof. I imagine there are APs for Cardiff - Notts.

Lol! Don't worry. I just spotted that myself. It still works out £16 cheaper which is a good start. If you come up with anything else, that would be fab. Thanks again!!

There is AP fares for Cardiff to Nottingham available, but only from £58 each way.

Seeing as it's after 9am she wants to travel, then I suggest splitting at Cardiff, Cheltenham and Derby. That way, you can avoid the Anytime fares priced by XC

Interesting advice. Thanks for that. Would she be going through those stations anyway to get from Swansea to Lincoln (I know she'd be going through Cardiff before someone tells me Lol!)?

The Cardiff-Nottingham direct services go via Cheltenham, Birmingham New Street, and Derby.

With the dates been so close to Christmas it may not work out in this case, but have a look at buying Swansea - London and then London - Lincoln. I have done this before for Cardiff and it is nearly always cheaper with the AP's, you will of course need to fund your trip accross London, but that isn't that expensive.

You will need to allow for delays accross London, but again missing the connection at Nottingham when you are splitting journeys isn't pleasent.
