I’m trying to plan an early trip from Liverpool to Birmingham on this day. While national rail shows a couple of options (the first changing at Crewe) but the ticket option shows not available for the first few services of the day.

Yesterday there was a notice stating due to potential over running engineering works they were waiting for wcml timetables to be finalised but would be done by today.

Today that notice is no longer there but the option to buy a ticket still says not available??

Can anyone help with the likelihood of these trains running and when we will know.

Those services are the ones that are altered due to the engineering works, one only going as far as MK and another Rugby, via a diversion. They're planned to run, but because they're unusual routes, NRE isn't able to find a valid fare. A flexible ticket will be valid.

Ok thanks yeah on further looking into National Rail aren’t showing available tickets, rail forums tickets (which I hadn’t realised existed) showing as sold out and London North Western were showing ‘time table unconfirmed’ but avanti are showing them available (first service is part avanti and second one is avanti, strange one as they don’t usually run through the West Midlands on the Liverpool-London route).

I believe it was today avanti confirmed the time table so maybe they’re just a bit slow passing the info on elsewhere.

As long as planned to run thats the main thing.

The LNR services currently showing from Crewe-Euston aren't going to run . Will be a change at Milton Keynes for buses to Bedford for London or reroute via another operator (EMR / Chiltern via Birmingham etc)
