Streaming Platform Dilemma

A show I use to watch on Netflix is moving onto hulu. I paid for prime video to watch one tv series a few months ago. At the moment I am only paying for youtube and soundcloud regarding streaming. I don't watch the most tv shows, however it seems unsustainable to either have to switch or pay for multiple streaming services that do the same thing every month.

Do you have any ideas to a more sustainable streaming service model that can work.

I was thinking, pre streaming, we either paid for vhs/dvd's and paid for sky tv or another broadcast service but almost everything came under dvd/vhs even if produced by different companies, 100's or channels would come under sky service or another tv viewing service. I imagine something similar needs to happen with streaming, although it seems complex. Maybe the streaming services need to fall under a bigger service that can provide the content of a lot of streaming services? But then I imagine this might make the service more expensive maybe as sky was probably more expensive than one tv subscription service?

I tend to find I get streaming services included with things like mobile phone contracts, bank accounts, credit cards, etc and don't really "pay" for most because of it. The two I don't get for free I just alternate every now and then, no particular pattern to it.

I'm also quite happy to "watch" adverts, by which I mean I'm happy to have random breaks where I go the toilet/make a brew/unload the dishwasher/etc. That brings the price down to free or to the cheapest plan.

But... I appreciate the situation is ridiculous that you or I have to look at all these different ways of accessing TV and film. I am somewhat tempted to start buying Blu-ray and CDs again so that I actually own (well, own a copy of) the film/music rather than basically renting it. I'm aware digital copies can be bought but there's often not a great deal in it.

Essentially the studios want paid, whether that’s directly or indirectly. In the beginning almost everything was on Netflix, because they didn’t know it was going to work so let Netflix be the guinea pig. Now they’ve seen it work, they reckon they’ll do better by getting an exclusive subscription from you.
Various providers such as Sky, Amazon, Apple, etc. will aggregate for you. But that’s largely just bundling into one bill rather than making it cheaper.
As @styles says, playing the game of hopping on and off and finding the deals is the only real way to save.
