We seem to be going round in circles with LNw...
None of the 350s are damaged from the storm (up thread - all checked and o.k., including specifically three ones in the station)
There's no problem;em with access to King's Heart depot (up thread)

I have no reason to doubt the veracity of the above answers, which seem to apply to the situation from Tuesday last but.. it's Friday and LNw is only running a very limited service, Birmingham - Milton Keynes all stations.

Still no explanation on NRES or from WMT apart from 'floods'.

And with very good reason. This is one of the main reasons why I think TOCs should be abolished immediately, for all public-facing railway functions anyway. Keep them for management purposes in the short term if you have to - but make all staff realise that it is now one railway again.

Which would presumably mean the end of the price war between Avanti and WMR . Higher fares all round!

Avanti have, maybe. But LNwR ???
Looking at next week, Stafford to Euston; LNw - £17, Avanti £40.50.

The long distance ones are more growing the market through price differentiation rather than competition (i.e. Avanti competes with driving your Beemer or Merc, LNR competes with going by coach or driving your beat up 15 year old Corsa with your mates). It's not unlikely that that would continue into GBR, if only in the form of Advances.

Other countries with nationalised railways have different priced services operating the same route, so the Avanti/LNR split could still continue. Inter-City vs Inter-Regio trains on the same route, one faster and more expensive than the other.

National Rail is definitive, and correct.

As of 12:00 today it shows this (imges show National Rail site explaining that there is ticket acceptance for LNWR tickets between St Pancras and Derby, and dated at 2nd December 2024 at a time of 11:46):

Cumbria clean-up to continue... https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cqj0jw025kdo has:
No trains will run between Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria and Lancaster from Tuesday to Friday as urgent works are to be carried out in the Ulverston area.

The line was previously closed from 23 to 25 November after snow melted and overwhelmed the watercourse, flooding the tracks and damaging the earth of the nearby railway cutting.

Network Rail said it was looking to permanently fix the site after about 300 tonnes of soil had to be removed.

There is a short video clip on twitter ( that I cant get to link for some reason) from the LNWR "Customer Experience Director" (!) that says nothing of substance other than 5 trains are out of service due to flood damage.

The sets in platforms 4 and 5 were said, in a video up thread somewhere (or on the 350 damage thread - I can't find it at the moment), to be the ones damaged, and overnight there's normally 12 cars in 4 and 8 cars in 5 (to form the early Down services - two New Streets from 4 and a Crewe from 5) , which could well explain the 5.
Possibly there was some difference between the circumstance in platforms 4/5 (which form a bay, and trapped the water) and the river side, where water could drain away more easily.
Two of the units can be identified in the video.

Extract of (above-linked) story...
BBC said:
A train line is set to close again for essential repairs following Storm Bert flooding.

Aren't trains on the Furness line meant to be back running (between Barrow and Lancaster) on Friday? :s
