I am scheduled to travel to Stansted on Oct 4, one of the just announced Aslef strike days. Any advice please re what happened during previous strikes. Did any trains run and if so how frequently? And what's the best alternative from central London?

There have been Stansted Express services previously during ASLEF strikes. IIRC it was hourly or half-hourly.
