Is it just me or does Local look more clear to be an actual beach ball? You can see the ball (or in this case, beach ball) at the near back of the vehicle clearly making a shape of an actual beach ball, (with more suitable colours IMO). **See the photo above posted in this thread for reference on what I mean.**
However on the *newer version* of the Beachball livery (as seen in my profile picture), I can kind of see the beach ball, if you count the back and front's paint to be a circle and the white being the inside of the bland beach ball!
But in the older version of the Beachball livery with the blue and orange stripes at the front (see photos of SN04EGF to see what I mean), I can see the (wonky) beach ball better. Maybe this is where the livery's name comes from.
Although, I guess in the previous logo, the actual logo looks more like a beach ball, lol.

I don't know. I hope this made sense. Maybe this intrests no one but me, but hey ho.

By the way, if you want reference to what a beach ball is, a quick Google search will show you. Just search "beach ball" and go to photos tab.

Talking of Stagecoach liveries, does anyone know what livery the supposed new buses coming to the 700 Coastliner will have? I presume they are of the E400mmc variety, but how come they will not be in the longer distance yellow livery that they have been putting on the older E400s (or at least the ones based at Chichester)?

Good news, throughout May you'll see brand new buses running on our Coastliner 700 route between Portsmouth, Chichester and Littlehampton. They'll not be yellow anymore either, they will come with a striking new look. When you're onboard there's even some of our iconic seagulls hidden onboard for you to spot on your travels!

MMC Beachball was quite alright and the move to the new liveries have been a marked downgrade, so my vote goes to Beachball.

"Beach ball" refers to the actual round logo that appears on all the Stagecoach liveries. It still exists.

By the way, if you want reference to what a beach ball is, a quick Google search will show you. Just search "beach ball" and go to photos tab.

I'm quite sure that the majority of our forum members are aware of what a beachball is, and if they didn't, I'm sure enough that they don't need instructions on how to find out!

I seem to recall reading somewhere that it is to be a similar style to the rebranded buses recently done up for the Winchester to Alton 64 - base of Local livery with location images on the side and the new Coastliner logo featured on the link you posted in place of the 64 in a circle. But I can’t remember where I read this (probably a Facebook group if not here), so I can’t actually confirm how reliable that source might actually be!

Thanks for sending that link, I'm glad they are coming back with some sort of customized livery. It's a route which has had quite a strong brand for a while up until recently, which can't be said for most other routes.
I wonder if they will do a similar thing with the Gold-branded 1 route, seeing as the gold brand is on the way out.

Regarding my recent post about Stagecoach South's service 20 between Aldershot and Guildford, I'd forgotten that before it became the KITE, it was branded as the Kite. The KITE name subsequently outlived the branding by five years.

I've noticed some route brandings coming back too, although up here (Stagecoach East Scotland), there's not a single vehicle in local/distance which has route branding.

Also, we've (East Scotland) never had anything like a Queen's Jubilee or a King's Coronation livery or the standard blue-local driver trainer livery. Although if you check bustimes.org, East Scotland does have a few unique liveries for their driver trainers!

Fair, but they do look like glorified school buses. Also, Stagecoach Midlands has some ex-London training Dennis Darts, I noted earlier.

South does seem to be increasing the number of route brandings at the moment - the new 500 using ex Basingstoke / Manchester E200 MMCs has been branded along with the ex Winchester E200 MMCs working in Portsmouth have been branded up for the 18.
