St Pancras to East Dulwich

Gents,

A nice easy one for all you people familiar with the working of London Village

Am planning a trip to London on the 23rd of January (Saturday) and need the best way (quickest) to get from STP to EDW.

Would the quickest route be walk to Kings Cross, then Northern line to London Bridge and then Over ground to EDW.

Or, as a friend suggested, Thames link to Peckham Rye, then change, and on to EDW?

I have an Oyster card which I add credit to each time I visit the capital (about one a year!!) and currently have about ten pounds on it.

Also need to make the return journey the following day 24th (Sunday)

Yes, that's the best route with trains every 15 minutes between London Bridge and East Dulwich. The Thameslinks only run every 30 minutes.

If you haven't already bought your ticket you can get through tickets from any station to East Dulwich which would include the tube transfer.

Might be worth checking if a Thameslink is due soon at St Pancras, as it is a fair walk down to the tube at Kings Cross and Southern are having quite a few staff shortages at the moment.

Or a thameslink Sutton train to tulse hill (every 15 mins, crops platform onto a southern to east dulwich (again every 15 mins), also the two trains are timed to depart tulse hill about the same time.

Mixing tube and NR on Oyster is more expensive than NR throughout, another advantage.
Note that Tulse Hill is Zone 3 but that shouldn't matter...
