Unlike the previous bridge the new one is ideal for photography and without the need for a step/steps.

The kids will be able to see through the holes but will the drivers be able to see them waving?
I know the ridge stops you walking on the top girder but it’s still a bit of a climbing frame for any adventurous yoof.

Btw…..was it ever revealed what (or who) broke the old bridge - wasn’t there a suggestion some on track plant had hit it?

Crossed the new bridge for the first time today - a few days after opening as I was away for a few days.

The bridge seems popular today (Sunday) with quite a crowd of family groups and hikers. Waiting for passing trains may be a longer experience than normal as the mainline between Woking and Basingstoke is closed for engineering work. I think only the Alton trains are running here.
