Do a tour of the Wetherspoons about 5 of them, maybe an escape room and the £1 burger joint should help pass the time! If not interested just don't go!

The last bit is the most appealing suggestion, I think

Blackpool is just not an appealing destination now, irrelevant of the lights. I spent an hour there on a tour last winter and it was like the end of the world and about 59 minutes longer than I would have liked to spend there. Vintage are running a tour with a pair of 37s that I would be interested in if it wasn't for the SIX hours you have to spend in Blackpool
That tour runs close to me and i would have gone, had it not been for those 6 hours! An odd one, they could have offered a mini tour option somewhere - a few interesting routes up there.

You could do your own mini tour to kill time. Travel by train to Kirkham, then travel back in to Blackpool South. You won't be far then from the Spitfire museum at the airport very interesting if you're into aviation ( open Saturday only in autumn). Or the tram depot tour.
Then tram back to nearer the prom or North station.

First prize, six hours in Blackpool. To be fair, there are worse places, e.g Rhyl without leaving the coast or Scunthorpe inland.

That's what Pathfinder UK Railtours (edited to appease the pedants) did last winter. 86 into Blackpool and then a pair of 47s took us on a tour of the Pennines which meant that by the time we got back to Blackpool, there was only an hour to kill which was easily done with a slow walk to the front and back to the station :D

Vintage aren't entirely targeting the enthusiast market though as I think they target families and such which is why their tours tend to have a longer layover, especially for things like the illuminations and they don't tend to do addons.

I thought that was a UKR job?

Some of them do this, PF running to chester in Nov with a mini tour add on. But get it, Vintage targetting different audience - although a longish train day, grim walk to/from station and a long day is not conducive really unless its aimed at families with older kids.

Correct, that tour was UK Railtours, not Pathfinder. The mini-tour was successfully diverted/extended via the Leeds area due to a sinkhole at Elland.

The previous Class 37 hauled Vintage Trains trip to Blackpool for the lights was blessed with wonderful weather and it was very easy to fill the time. I was travelling with someone who would always choose a mini-tour over any off train time (in pretty much any circumstance) and even he really enjoyed the day there.

Srps is advertising a tour on 6th June Carlisle to Oban with the 45
There's positioning tours day before and after using 37403 taking the stock down from the central belt
Also worth noting this tha same weekend as BLS have their lord of the isle's 50 tour to Oban, although the BLS goes to Oban Sunday

Positioning move is advertised with 37025 (subject to its overhaul being finished) and a friend, which won't be 37403 as it is going for wheelset and bogie attention after the tour to Fort William in May.

It will be a 37 from the LSL fleet as this one appears to be a LSL operation.

I've already got the 50 tour in my diary for that weekend and as that is more likely to be a Midlands based start, that gets the nod for me. I'd hoped the positioning moves for the SRPS ones would have been from Crewe with LSL being involved which probably would have swayed me to book onto this instead but I know it is hard for SRPS to get their staff that far south just to pick me up :D
