SPAD at Eaglescliffe. 09Jul.

My house backs onto the line just south of Eaglescliffe South Junction. The regular "Scouseliner" waste working passed the peg B822 and then the brakes came on. Stop. For two hours.

Do folks have any background information? Do RAIB quarantine the area?

When are you referring to? I can't see any disruption today, but something out of the ordinary happened in the Eaglescliffe area a couple of days ago on Thursday evening, causing severe delays for Northern and TPE: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/se...AG/2026-07-09/1800?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt
due to an 'issue with train crew'

Looks like 6E26 was stopped at/near Eaglescliffe for around 90 minutes.

That's the one! 6E26 9/7. If you live next to the line, then you get used to the rhythm of the workings.

As soon as the brakes dragged on, I knew that something was amiss.
