Is anyone going to the Spa Valley railway diesel gala this weekend?

I'm gonna be there on Saturday.

Karl :)

I'm HOPEFULLY coming on the Saturday myself. Note, all trains seem to be terminating at Groombridge and not Birchden due to extension works going on.

Not going this time as off on holiday, but have been a few times in the last few years and always enjoyed it - recommend the line to anyone. Should be cracking when it gets to Eridge, the only thing is it is easy to get 'one set syndrome' by the afternoon!

The Fish and Chip Special was certainly very hellfire! All I need now is to solve a problem with my minidisc recorder and some high quality recordings could be made available soon :D.

Spent Saturday and Sunday there, out of about 12 diesel galas i've been to this year I think it was the best one, really friendly and helpful staff, good drivers making plenty of noise, good fleet and a top little route. Arrived for the first train on the Saturday and only bailed at High Rocks once to go to the pub (at £3 a pint we didn't return considering it was £2 on the train), shame 254 burst and missed a couple of trains on the Saturday but was back out on the beerexs top'n'tail with the cromptons, last run back was the best, best thrash of the weekend, 065 was just starting to produce a few sparks!

Not too much difference, after a good few runs it was starting to clear itself out, I think the best runs were on the Saturday night beerex, was really being given some but as the 73 was on the train to operate the brakes we were an engine length away from it, also a good couple of runs back on the sunday when 33065 was DOR, rolled right up to the crossing and then wacked the stick round! the farce on the Saturday was it kept shutting down every time power was applied but they didn't have any more problems with it on the Sunday, did splutter when opened up the one time like it was about to shut down but sorted itself out and kept going.
