hi i have downloaded the South East zip saved it to a folder
extracted it
went to the game opened play scenerio
got both the South East SCN &
South East with Industry SCn in the directory i click on one
is saying New Grf-Missing file in red
i did also download the GRF Longer Girder
nothing hapens i,m afarid
i must be doing something wrong

In that case, download ALL the GRFs associated with the Scenario, and check that they are active under New GRF Settings. The list can be found above. If it still doesn't work, come back to me.

Excellent work!

As a suggestion for a future effort, how about an 'enlarged' map of London that'd the complexities of the rail network (NR and LUL!) to be represented in more detail?

That might be pushing it...

Nice! I shall be playing that later, meanwhile in Wales...

Whoops...

What version have you got? I haven't seen any with timings so precise - in fact, precise at all...

Highly efficient I must say - two trains in the same direction expect simulataneously! :p

r22273M - no idea where it came from, someone sent it to me. It is rather fun, but "spacing" the trains can be annoying! Here's what it looks like without disruption...

This means you've made them angry with you. Check your Local Authority rating - it will say either Very Poor or Appalling. The chances are you've chopped down too many trees for their liking, or failing that have a large number of stations extant that have no services whatsoever.

The easiest way to rectify this is to plant trees in all available squares under their jurisdiction. Be careful however; you can't multiple improvements for planting more than one tree in any given game square, and if you chop them down again the penalty is severe!

See here for more information.

Keep your eyes peeled for an update to the South-East map, which will involve a full-on reset of industries. Coming soon...

You can probably guess the main reason this revision has been made: Chelmsford. The old version is no longer accurate in terms of all cities being designated as such, along with the largest towns. Since Chelmsford isn't among the largest towns in the scenario, it was not designated a City in the original version; in this revised version, your trains are now welcomed into the City of Chelmsford...

As ever, please advise me of any errors. I have also taken the chance to rejig the industries a bit; we still have a case of some being more realistic than others (Surrey now has several forests around Egham etc to better reflect its environment, for instance).

You have to open the map in Scenario Editor and go on NewGRF settings. Then add the desired GRFs to the list already provided, and save. That should be all!

Tried this not worked
on the scenario editor i managed to open South West with no problems
the list of active GRF files shows all those installed with this
but the select preset -Custom,Delete preset are not highlighted so can not add GRF
i have added the GRF i need, tube, third rail etc etc and saved it as UK 1 but that was on a default
there is no option to add any GRF whilst in Editor mode
shame as wanted Tube trains to run from Swanage to Wareham,
Pendionline along the Devon area and third rail on the Bournmouth-Weymouth line

The only other suggestion I have is to go on the Main Menu and select NewGRF settings there. Note all GRFs used in the game file (see earlier in the thread if need be), and then create a new preset, with all the original ones still in use. Then add the other ones you want, and save. Go on Scenario Editor again, load the SW Map, and change the preset to the one you just made.

If that doesn't work, I don't know what to suggest. You would be better off asking on the OpenTTD forum in that instance.

Thank you for playing my Scenario by the way :)

P.S.: The Pendolino (I assume this is what you meant by "Pendionline"?) becomes available with the NewGRFs selected in the early 2000s.

I'm probably being stupid as usual, but where am I supposed to put the new maps once I've downloaded them?

I've tried unzipping it to various locations in and around the OpenTTD files, but when I open the game, I can't then find the new maps...

Put them in the Scenario folder. It should then find them automatically.

Alternatively, open the game, and create a new Scenario using a name that doesn't mean anything but is easy to remember (e.g. Game1). Then use the Search function on your computer to locate the folder it is saved in, and move the other files there with it.

Loving the South East map, going to download the South West map later and will post screenshots of both games tomorrow night, currently building a tramway network in the South East extending from Slough as far as Virginia Water, Gerrards Cross, Rickmansworth, Southall and Ruislip. Going to replicate in the South West starting in Penzance.

By the way I am from the South West :D
