79,000 cc engine, so divide by 12 to get your cylinder CC!

Yes - at the open day a couple of years ago.

Try a valve.......well..the head of it anyway....melted into the crown of the piston!

Dropped a valve (why, we do not know....!!)..possibly metal fatigue, the head of which smashed around in the cylinder for a little while, destroying the injector head, mashing up another valve and making the piston crown look like the surface of mars, then got so hot, it melted into the crown! If you flip the piston over, the valve has actually gone right through and you can see part of it sticking out of the bottom of the casting!!!

Stuck in there for life id say!!! One of my little Valenta souvenirs, along with a little something else i will try and upload later when im at the missus'!!!

Good work! I suppose it was easier/more economical to do an engine change rather than repair it?

Nope.

New liner, piston, rings, injector, head & valves solved the problem!
