Hello, I’m here to be help to my mate who received a Govia Thameslink prosecution notice ticket due to not having a valid ticket for his journey(letter not arrived yet) my friend starting to attend college(this September) out of town started using train travel more frequently and due to shortages in money would pay for tickets not the whole journey and this has come to bite him, he researched the consequences of train fare avoidance and is now completely shaken by his findings and is doing everything in his power to find a way to not take this to court. He has since made a turnaround and started to buy every ticket in full price and planning to buy a railcard too for future travels, any advice on what he could do to prevent getting the outstanding fine of £1000 and a criminal record that could impact his future. We know this isn’t exactly what the people in this community would like to read and help with but anything would be incredibly and utterly appreciated.
