Hi all,

I'm after further information regarding the Hovertravel hovercraft Solent Express. It was withdrawn from Solent service back in 2011 after suffering from a major propeller failure, the craft was only 4 years old but never saw service again. It now spends most of its time on the Griffin pad on the river Itchen in Southsea, occasionally it's allowed to stretch its legs on Southampton water.

How can it be financially possible for an asset to sit collecting dust after only 4 years. Even now it's younger then my current car. Who is paying for it, is it likely to see service again? Is there any reason why Hovertravel don't use it during their current teething problems with their 2 brand new craft, rather than resurrecting the 30 year old AP88 craft?
