PAYG (with its mixed mode premium) will account for a lot of cross-London travel from the area around London so it may just be the longer-distance fares.

A reasonable number of cross London journeys can be made using Thameslink.
Secifically I was thinking of TL-LU/XR-GWR changing at Farringdon. I believe there's quite a leisure flow there.

How does a passenger control that? What happens if the system chooses the wrong one?
Could you give an example of a decision made at the end of the day that a passenger could consider wrong?
