I used to supply British Rail with the 65V 3pin BC 40W lamps used in the first class reading lights of the old slam door trains. I still have 296 left in stock and I am keen to move them on. Is there anyone still using these trains that might be interested in buying these last lamps?
At it's peek we used to sell about 80,000 per year with the football on Saturdays responsible for the largest loss to British Rail when the hooligans used to unscrew them. We countered this by reducing the size of the bulbs which made the surface a little hotter and as a result fewer were removed.
