Hi, I'm doing an ALR next year but have one problem. One of the days I'll be catching a sleeper up from Euston to Inverness, to then go on to Kyle of Lochalsh. I then need to somehow get to Mallaig. Is there a direct ferry? The only ferries I can find are Kyle-Kyleakin and Mallaig-Armadale. In which case, I need a bus service from Kyle to Armadale, but searching has proved fruitless. Can someone help?

No ferry exists now from Kyle of Lochalsh; the Skye Bridge has replaced the service and the ferries work elsewhere now (Mull and Bute). It has to be a bus from Kyle-Armadale.

Apparently there aren't any direct buses, however, from Kyle to Armadale :( You must first walk to the old slipway. You need to get the 50 bus to Broadford (continues to Portree) and then a 52(C) to Armadale (terminates).

Allow about 2 and a half hours from getting on your bus to getting your ferry.

I used this site, which could be of use to you :)
