Hi all,

Please could someone help me?

I've got Sim Sig Sheffield, which is definately my favourite Sim Sig download at the moment, but i've a problem..

How do I route trains away from Mexborough, towards Sheffield?

I've just had a look at SimSig now, to see which screen i'm talking about, and i'm sure there's 2 different versions of Mexborough?? :???:

The one which I CAN route, very easily, is the one on screen 4 which shows the route from Mexborough to Swinton.

BUT there seems to be another one, on one of my saved games, which I just can't use at all... it goes towards Kilnhurst Sidings...(Right to Left)

Does anyone know what i'm on about, and even better, have any solutions/explanations for why I think there's 2 versions?

Thanks..

Sounds like you have the 80s scenario selected. There is 2 to choose from, Modern day and 80s.

In that scenario, Swinton has not been built, and the layout is different. To route trains from Mexborough to Sheffield, set the route normally past Kilnhurst to Aldwarke Junc. On VW3, look at the attached image to see how you route trains to Sheffield via Masborough.

Thanks for your reply David, but I still have a BIG problem with trains like 2P65, which are local stopping 142 services, going towards Sheffield on VW4, away from Mexbrough, on the old scenario.

Your suggestion of routing it past the siding is what i've been trying to do all the time (basically from one signal to the next, really), yet the train still flags up as being wrongly routed.

I'm probably going to just stick to the new version, with Swinton on it, as it makes it dead easy to control and use.

I don't understand whyyou don't do that anyway. I mean, why are you playing a 200X timetable with 80's Stations/Line?

Sorry for the dig up, didn't realise the date!
