Darlington and York are a contrast.

York there will be staff, there has to be, however they will be on platforms despatching trains.
I think auto-announcer gets turned off at a certain time due to noise complaints from nearby residents.
Staff will be minimal as well, maybe 4 staff on duty, all On platforms
Well it is quite slow and for good reason. The key part is "emergency special working"!

The Lumo 14:48 seems to have finally made it to Newcastle and reversed back to original formation once more just 327 minutes late.
Impressive that they're still working it towards Edinburgh given the time and length of delay

Realtime trains suggests that, as a result of the disruption, 1S51 (Plymouth> Glasgow Central) due to depart York 1832 (actual 2156) ran as a 12-car formation York>Newcastle (220022+220013+221141) which, to this distant observer, seems odd. It was later curtailed at Edinburgh.
This would potentially tally.
221141 came off Tyne Yard this morning - https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:C24344/2025-11-05/detailed#allox_id=0 - but cannot see a path in (guessing it was an unscheduled path so not on Real Time Trains).

Kudos to Lumo for pushing on with getting to Edinburgh. Normally that kind of delay would lead to the service being curtailed.
It reminds me of when there was the OHL fire at Langley Junction back in April. LNER service 1S30, the 1830 Kings Cross to Edinburgh, persevered with reaching Edinburgh over 8 hours late. It should have arrived at Edinburgh just after 11pm, but didn't get there until well after 7am the next morning.
Lumo are very good when they have really large delays. Helped by the fact the crew lodge over in London and Edinburgh to work services the following morning.

No, I believe minimum rest periods still apply. They may delay a service the next day to accommodate rest periods.

50mph max, 15mph over points/crossings unless otherwise stated by the signaller and/or you are the first train through the ESW section.

I suspect David Horne would deny it, but if the policy is anything different, then staff are consistently not adhering to the policy, so I believe that is the policy.
A first in service triple voyager for XC? I believe it is regular for empty stock moves to/from Central Rivers.
During the testing phase when they were being built, Im sure I saw 4 units together arrive at Darlington, and also passing Thirsk.
Can not remember if they were 4 or 5 car sets. (I think they were 221s as they had blue name plates).
