Nope. There is no more sunlight. There is exactly the same amount of sunlight on any given day irrespective of what time the clock says it is.

If they were on Tokyo time they'd still have the same number of hours of daylight, even if they occurred at 3 a.m.!

I do not think so. Tokyo shortest day is 9 hours and 44 minutes. Longest day is 14 and 34. Tokyo is more to the south than Scotland. Tokyo has the same height on the globe as Gibraltar.

"on Tokyo time" would normally mean in Tokyo's timezone. It's the only sense in which place xxx can be "on yyy time", given that the latitude of place xxx can't really be changed.

I find it a little strange how there are some people who want to erode British heritage, but then are desperate to keep HSTs and Loco hauled stock on the tracks (not getting at anyone in particular).

Daylight savings time is hardly in the same category as the Bayeux Tapestry or the Magna Carta though is it?

There are places, in Italy and Norway I think, that have villages tucked away behind mountains that get no sunlight at all for a good part of the year (AKA Lancashire) and to get around it, they have mirrors which focus the sun on to town squares and such. Makes me wonder if, seeing how much reflected light we get from the moon, if we could sprinkle the whole surface with fine glass then we could turn the moon into sun and save £b's on lighting here! Mind you, our government would probably go and sprinkle the wrong side.
