That's fantastic, but the point being made is that Cows don't add anything to the atmosphere that the grass hadn't already taken out.

On an atomic level that might be roughly true but on a molecular level you're ignoring that methane (and nitrous oxide also produced by the coos) is a way more greenhouse-y gas than CO2. Like orders of magnitude more. So something taking CO2 out of the air, swapping the carbon for hydrogen and belching out again as "equivalent" methane is doing way worse.

(not that I'm personally worried about climate change long term as I have faith in human ingenuity and basic economics, but that's another discussion)
