Hi all!
Hope I’m posting this correctly and in the right place.
Bit of an odd ask and I wasn’t sure where else to go with this, but I’m heading up to Talyllyn next weekend for an event they’ve got going on there (for Wilbert Awdry, author of the RWS to be specific). As well as the event itself I was thinking of booking a ride with the steam train tours – might as well while I’m there!
I was hoping with lockdown easing in Wales that tickets for the rail journeys would return to single ticket bookings but unfortunately they’ve stayed as bookings for the whole compartment only. Of course I completely understand this for safety reasons and the comfort of other riders.
Booking a compartment alone would be a bit of a stretch money-wise (love being a student). I’m traveling alone, but I would be happy arranging to share the compartment and cost with a couple of others as long as they’re tested, staying safe, and comfortable with doing so.
The struggle of course is finding others who’d be interested to arrange something, so if anyone knows anyone or has any advice it’d be greatly appreciated! Otherwise I’m more than happy to simply see the trains go by on the day (or pray that there’s a couple of others in the same position and an un-booked compartment)!
