Sandy level crossing

Seem to be in a queue to traverse a level crossing at Sandy. Doesn’t sound serious thankfully, but anyone know if it’s a mechanical problem, or stuck lorry etc? Wondering what time I’ll get back north…

Don't know about the level crossing but it looks like 1D29 London Kings Cross to Bradford Forster Square has run into some kind of trouble, with things being routed around it on the slows

And which Sandy? (As Sandy on the ECML doesn't have any level crossings, but there are 2 further north).

Edit: Just looked on signalmaps and there are que's north and south of Tempsford and Everton Level crossings (the 2 level crossings between Sandy and St Neots).

That makes sense. I was going to suggest some kind of crossing failure, but that would of been speculation on my part (as I'm not an insider).

Interesting. We have CCTV cameras at work that make full nighttime look like daylight on the screen (there's no lighting and it's rural locations). No idea how they work, I guess some kind of HDR but in this day and age floodlights are not needed for high quality CCTV.

CCTV crossings are obsolete now anyway, new installations are obstacle detector types fitted with Radar/Lidar.

Given the safety critical nature it's probably not worth certifying a new type of camera now.

Sorry for not being clear. Am on the Bradford train, now hurtling north in a bid to avoid the 30 mins delay repay. There seemed to be a lot of congestion (Traksy) around a crossing, both directions. Train announcement bit vague on cause.

Sorry for not being clear. Am on the Bradford train, now hurtling north in a bid to avoid the 30 mins delay repay. There seemed to be a lot of congestion (Traksy) around a crossing, both directions. Train announcement bit vague on cause.

I'd say every destination as far as Leeds at least is getting their 50% Delay Repay today. Shipley and Bradford may be borderline depending how quickly they can spin it out of Leeds (and that recovery time from Shipley is worth 3-4 mins).

Not so; there are still new CCTV crossings being commissioned, some crossings are not suitsble for Obstacle Detection. eg Meldreth Road at Shepreth, upgraded from AHB to CCTV last year.
