Evening all, I’m planning to go through Manchester on Friday 31st July, from Sandbach to Huddersfield.
I’m not sure where I saw the information, but I planned to arrive at Piccadilly to get the 13.57 to Huddersfield. This is the Redcar train, and I was keen to get this as it uses the new(ish) Ordsall Chord. It gets to Huddersfield at 14.45
However, all journey planners suggest getting the 1400 from Piccadilly, going the most direct route to Huddersfield for 14.41, even when asking to go via Victoria.
Firstly, is a journey via the Ordall Chord to Huddersfield actually possible (I realise there’s lots of rail works in W Yorks) and would it be valid on a Sandbach-Huddersfield ticket? I was trying to work this out myself, but as usual I’ve ended up a bit confused. Thanks.
