As this is a long term RR service, does anyone know what type of vehicles are being used and the route taken?
There is normally no direct bus service between the two locations.

The coaches are Scunthorpe to Doncaster. All are from local coach companies, arranged through FRS (First Rail Support) on behalf of Northern Rail (stopping buses) and First TP (direct ones).

Ditto Goole to Doncaster on the other affected route.

No. There are 2 seperate RR routes. One is Doncaster-Scunthorpe calling at the intermediate stations and connecting to onward rail service at Scunthorpe, the other is an express from Doncaster direct to Grimbsby town and Cleethorpes, this is what you are given in the itinerary.

Hmmm. This has obviously changed since I drove this RRB route (in the days following the landslide). Looking at http://www.opentraintimes.com/location/GMB/2013-04-02/0000-2359 for Grimsby Town on tuesday shows the existence of these fast coaches. My apologies for the out-of-date information I gave.
