Royal train carriages

Does anyone know what is going to happen to the carriages when it is no longer used by the Royal Family ?

They end up at the National Railway Museum, in York, perhaps?

They stated they would be preserved, but I doubt the NRM would take more than one or possibly two - they'll get scattered around the country.

2903/2904 (Queen Elizabeth II's Saloon and Prince Philip's Saloon) will likely stay together, possibly to York. 2922/2923 (King Charles III's Day and Night Saloons) would also likely stay together, possibly to Shildon or Swindon. 2916, Royal Family Dining Car, might also make it to one of the major museum sites. Other vehicles could just end up at preserved railways, either owned by NRM and put on loan, or directly to them.

If earmarked for eventual preservation - and assuming their decommissioning includes a removal of all security-sensitive equipment - I do wonder what, if any, interest the "non Royals usage" vehicles will actually hold for the general public.
