Hi all,

Around a year ago I opened a thread regarding a dispute I had with Northern over a ticket from SMB (Smithy Bridge) to Manchester CTLZ (Manchester Central Zone) and stopping short at SFD (Salford Central) on a flexi season ticket.

A forum member kindly advised that it was a valid route because travelling via Salford Crescent to (say) Manchester Oxford Road was a valid route validated by journey planners.

At that point my ticket would let me exit the barriers at Salford Central. As of last week they no longer allow me through and I have to ask staff, one of whom recently challenged my ticket (and let me through when they didn't understand my explanation).

I thought, however, that I should check nothing has changed as regards the validity of using the Salford Crescent route to Oxford Road and the like so that I don't get caught out the next time Revenue Protection staff show up. If you could advise me how to perhaps put something together to illustrate the issue I might also have a chat with the chap in the ticket office and see if I can get the barriers fixed.

Alternatively, I'll have to start getting off at Victoria!

Thank you in advance. Your input is always appreciated.
