Hi all,

My train has been delayed severely today and the adjacent operator has allowed tickets to be used on their line this morning. (C2c essex delayed, greater Anglia accepting tickets)

I have had to drive to that station (20min) and paid to park there to get into work today.

My question, will they still likely allow their line to be used once disruption has cleared on my original line, allowing me to get back to where my car is parked? If not, can I claim the cost of a taxi which I’ll need to get back to my car?

Train companies don't realise people don't all walk to stations, so probably not. Best thing to do is make a fuss on Twitter where it's all publicly viewable, and go from there

Perhaps buy a ticket back to the station your car is parked at, then request a refund from Customer Services?

Thanks guys, I actually checked the ticket I bought from the original station and on the ticket I noticed a difference in destination. Instead of saying FST London Fenchurch Street it now says LON - London Terminals

On the ticket it says any permitted on the return as well as the out ticket.

So I think I may have answered my own question (ha). I will post back in here on the train home for others to see the outcome in case anyone else has the same question in future
