47813 ROG

Picture not mine.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but I'd imagine that DRS are less than pleased to see the 'new' ROG livery as applied to 47813. Apart from the blue roof, rather than black, it pretty much looks like a DRS copy to me!

By that logic you could say that DRS copied the Riviera blue livery (original, NOT compass) from Riviera Trains 47s, and slapped a DRS logo on the body side.

Different shade of blue, yellow cabside window surrounds, no red bufferbeam, blue roof. But I know what you mean about the 'original' DRS livery.

Serious paint wibble here!

Putting the matter of what livery has been copied/who copied who here aside, I'm just glad that 813 has found a new owner, securing it's future & thus proving that, despite the influx of newer & far more efficient loco types, that there is still a market for pre-owned 47s...

But isn't the shade of blue FGW... ??!!!

It wouldn't surprise me if it is 'GWB' - I gather that there was plenty left over just before the GWR re-brand which annoyed WABTEC, Some of that would have been used up on the HST overhauls, but with no other First TOC using the same shade bar Hull Trains, it does mean there's probably a fair few tins left over!
