Heatherslaw Light Railway has cancelled their remaining services today due to River Till flooding and being on the track. It is still rising so so fingers crossed it doesn’t do any damage.

Not part of the world I'm overly familiar with. This'll be the River Till up in Northumberland presumably, so very possibly that makes the Heatherslaw the Northern-most narrow gauge railway operation in the whole of England?

Correct England’s most northerly steam railway. River Till is getting a little worse at flooding fortunately only enough to stop trains today shouldn’t be any damage.

Be right in saying that the Heatherslaw Lighf Railway did suffer from fairly bad flooding, back in September 2008, and to a slightly lesser extent, in January 2021 as well?

Yes 2008 everything was flooded all carriages off tracks, lost a section of trackbed, fortunately it was half inch below Lady Augusta’s blast nozzle. 2021 damaged track but not rolling stock although there was a landslide. Yesterday’s was what we would expect. Trackbed covered at lowest point so too risky for trains but no damage done. Photos from 2008
