Dear all,

Looking to buy a property in Redhill and doing my research to cover all bases.

How is the commute from Redhill to London terminals, Faringdon in special?

Is there a chance to get a sit in the morning, 7 to 8 am trains? Or will I get better chances if taking the train from Earslwood?

Thanks

Dan

In some ways, commuting from Redhill is better now than it was in the past - the trains start locally and therefore have more capacity than when some cane from the coast. In other ways it is worse because there are no 'fast' trains (but there never really were because of the need to serve all of the stations on the Redhill route).

The xx29 / xx59 services to Peterborough are the best (and actually I don't really notice the stops at Merstham and Coulsdon South as abouy 30 minutes to London Bridge is creditable) - I try to catch the 0629 when I go to London to beat the Contactless peak - the xx39 / xx09 trains are slower and come from Horsham.

In the peak the xx29/xx59 generally start at Gatwick and should have capacity at either Earlswood or Redhill.

to be fair redhill is fully within the commuter belt and the price you pay for the house can closely match the commuting convenience to london
i have a well looked after 3 bed victorian terrace in redhill its very much to my taste not much decoration since the 80s is it worth a fortune well no but according to local demand its over 1/3 off a million pounds
in my eyes just daft but as the house prices do tend to rise the closer to london commute they get
